How did you know your dress was “the one”?
I knew this dress was the one when my middle child expressed that the fabric of the dress reminded them of my parents, who had passed away. When I put on the dress, I knew immediately that this was the dress I would marry Andy in. It felt like “me.”
How would you describe your wedding aesthetic in a few words?
Our wedding aesthetic in three words: intentional, classic, romantic.
What moment from your wedding day felt the most magical?
There were so many. But the most was having Andy turn around for the first look; the way he looked at me and reacted was exactly what I had dreamed of. I never stopped smiling the whole day. Comments from guests that I was “a smile in a dress”!
Other magic moments included getting to wear my mom’s pearl necklace, having my brothers walk me to the aisle, and having my son walk me down the aisle.
What advice would you give yourself when you first got engaged?
The best advice I gave myself was that we were planning a marriage and having a party to celebrate. We made weekly dates to plan, and other than those dates, we tried to focus on everyday life — communicating and being intentional about our relationship.
For the wedding day, we promised that we would stay present and take the day slow to enjoy each moment, find each other and truly just let the day be about us.
