We’re delighted to introduce Truvelle’s newest monument to that glorious thing called love: the 2022 Collection. Featuring six beautiful gowns with curve-specific patterning, sleeves, brand new silky fabrics, and pockets to boot, this collection has a gown for every body—and we can’t wait for you to meet them.
“This collection was inspired by the Truvelle bride—a person who values effortlessness, simplicity, comfort, and unique elements that enhance but never overwhelm,” says Gaby Bayona, Founder and Creative Director of Truvelle. “Every year, our design team works hard to improve our fit and construction across all brands, and 2022 was no exception.”
Silhouettes for Contemporary Romance
New to the 2022 collection are silhouettes for romantic brides with minimalist sensibilities.
The Celine gown—our very first slip dress—pairs a chic column skirt with a back slit and delicate spaghetti straps for a svelte shape. Celine can be worn on its own or paired with a removable overskirt (choose between chiffon or tulle), building two lovely wedding looks into one dynamic gown. Celine is finished with peony embroidered lace dappled with clear beads and sewn sequins; perfect for brides with refined tastes.
Meanwhile, our Amber gown introduces an updated take on a straight neckline. Paired with functional spaghetti straps and a beautiful off-white rose outline lace, Amber frames the décolletage and collarbones while providing greater support through the bust, and features the same scoop back from our much-loved Annie dress. This gown is perfect for brides looking for an A-line silhouette with a modern touch. This one’s an instant classic.
But new silhouettes aren’t all we’re excited about. You asked, so we delivered: sleeves!
Sumptuous Long Sleeve Bridal Gowns
Our brides, retailers, and wider community asked for A-line, sleeved gowns, and we’ve got two you’re going to love.
First, meet Lillie, our little ode to a breezy summer’s day. Featuring double layered flutter sleeves and a two layered skirt set in creamy silk organza, Lillie brings an amazing sense of movement to a classic silhouette. Pair those sleeves with an elegant deep-V neckline and back, and you’ve got a gown fit for the most romantic of hearts.
Then, the Scarlett gown marks our first foray into raglan sleeves. Paired with a sweetheart neckline and a keyhole back, the simple A-line skirt and long train makes Scarlett fit for a chapel or a backyard wedding alike. We love Scarlett for brides who want to make a dramatic entrance without straying too far from that traditional bridal aesthetic.
You’ve seen our new silhouettes and new sleeves, now meet our new fabrics! Yep, this collection goes full triple threat.
Modern Impressionist Fabrics
This season, we introduced two new feature fabrics unlike anything Truvelle has done before.
The first you’ll find in Lucinda: a beautiful, gestural paint stroke jacquard fabric that can be sampled in silver or pearl. This fabric brings a subtle shimmer to the entire gown, and makes you feel like you’re glowing. Paired with a minimal scoop neckline in the front and back with simple, comfortable straps, Lucinda is perfect for brides that want an effortlessly beautiful look. (Psst—she’s got pockets, too!)
Then there’s Calista, a new Truvelle icon finished in a floral fil coupé jacquard fabric. Calista balances a beautiful cumberband waistband with delicate spaghetti straps, emphasizing comfort and support from top to toe. Calista is the big sister to our classic Annie dress, and was designed for brides that love that quintessential Truvelle look (complete with a big, beautiful bow!).
A New Standard for Size Diversity
This year, we also upped our commitment to being a brand for every body. First, we photographed each gown on two models—one wearing size 2, and one wearing size 20—so brides of all sizes can truly see themselves reflected in our brand imagery. You can find these images on every Truvelle 2022 product page.
Second, we are delighted to introduce patterns specifically designed to create greater comfort and support for brides that wear extended sizes.
“After months of re-evaluating our base sizes & testing on multiple fit models, we are thrilled to have a new set of patterns to use this season and beyond,” says Bayona. “Lots of energy has been placed on perfecting our plus sizes, resulting in curve-specific patterns and specialized boning placement. We’re extremely proud to present a fit and form that will make brides of all shapes feel their very best.”
We hope these new elements will help all brides feel they belong in our wonderful Truvelle community, because we love having you all here!
We’re delighted to present this collection as the culmination of our hard work over the last year. You can find more details on the product pages belonging to each dress, where you’ll find info on available customizations and curve-specific patterning.
You can find the full roster of 2022 gowns at our flagship boutiques in Vancouver and Calgary.
“With Truvelle, it’s always our goal to create dresses which don’t overwhelm the bride,” says Bayona. “We want our brides to feel natural, effortless, refined, comfortable, and romantic. That’s what this collection is about: highlighting the natural beauty and charm of our brides.” ✄
