It’s time for you to meet the newest collection of gowns for badass, spirited babes. Like LAUDAE's past collections, 2023 brings together bold design elements to balance sultry and ultra-modern sensibilities in equal measure. The result? Six luxurious gowns designed to show off the personality (and curves!) that makes you who you are.
Unexpected Bridal Bodices
This season, LAUDAE developed two brand new bodices just for this collection. This is a brand that loves experimenting with bold bodices—the shapes, the fabrics, the linings, the straps—because bodices are so often the aspect of a gown which is front and centre in photographs, and these two new bodices are sure to wow your guests.
Harlow is the brand's very first full illusion bodice. They use an expertly-placed garden chorded lace to balance Harlow’s sultry sheerness and plunging neckline with a touch of modesty. Love the lace but want a bit more coverage? LAUDAE's got you. Harlow can be customized with a lining at the front of the bodice. Harlow’s skirt is a well-loved modern mermaid fit with a luxe satin lining. She’s an instant classic.
Micah also brings a brand new bodice design to the LAUDAE club. Featuring dainty straps and a shimmery beaded ivy fabric, Micah is lined in the front but sheer in the back with a sexy plunging neckline. Micah also has a saucy side panel, called a godet, which complements Micah’s minimal stretch crepe skirt. This gown was designed for those trend-setting brides that we love so much.
Bold Necklines
The neckline of a gown is often what a bride will first notice—and first fall in love with. Because the neckline frames the décolletage, collarbones and ultimately, your lovely face, it is one of the most important aspects of any dress. For this collection, LAUDAE refined a few well-loved neckline designs to create fresh, perfectly-balanced takes on two classic looks.
Addison introduces a neckline that is unusual for the bridal industry at large, which makes it perfect for LAUDAE. This unique sweetheart neckline takes centre stage against a super minimal crepe-backed satin, and is finished with a simple but classic satin button closure and super skinny straps. Addison is a carefully designed, minimal gown meant to show off what matters: you!
OG fans of LAUDAE will remember their popular Kloof gown. For 2023, Kloof was reimagined in luxe satin fabric, a detachable satin belt, saucy side cut-outs, illusion buttons (which can be customized to run all the way down the skirt!), and that iconic high neckline for a striking silhouette. The result? Meet Harley—the modern gown of your dreams.
Sexy Skirts
This collection, the brand also wanted to introduce new skirt elements. We are super excited to see the thigh-high side slit reintroduced, which hasn't been included in a collection since 2019, and we’re equally thrilled about the skirt godets this season! Godets are contrasting panels of lace included in skirts—they bring added movement, visual interest, and a little touch of flirtation.
The Micah gown features a godet, and so does the brand new Charlie gown. Charlie is a minimal silhouette with a bold, botanical lace overlay. That lace is used in both the unlined illusion back and for the skirt godet—and was specifically chosen for its lightweight feel, as requested by brides. Finished with skinny straps and a satin button closure, Charlie is one of our most modern gowns.
Loren brings back a classic design element: the thigh-high side slit. We love side slits because they make sexy-snug skirts more comfortable without compromising on that long, sleek silhouette. Loren also features an abstract corded floral lace and an open illusion back and sexy side cut-outs. Pair with a cocktail and some bold lipstick for best results!
Curve Sizing for Every Body
LAUDAE is still all-in on their commitment to create comfortable, considered curve patterns for every gown in every collection.
For brides that wear sizes 16+, LAUDAE added optional customizations including added boning or lining to bodices as required, an altered waistline for greater comfort, and zippers instead of button closures as preferred by our brides. Their main goal is to create a gown that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful.
If you check out the collection on the LAUDAE website (click here!), you can also see each gown in this collection worn by two models — one wearing a size 2 and one wearing a size 20. LAUDAE wants all brides to feel represented within the brand, no matter their size; they are a brand for every body, and that’s not going to change.
We’re so excited for you to get to know LAUDAE's brand new collection. Let us know which gowns are your favourite on our Instagram, or visit our boutiques in person to try on Micah, Charlie, Harley, Harlow, Loren, and Addison!
