Lyanne + Angel: A warm + moody wedding day in Mexico City

half-left

How did you know your dress was “the one”?

I knew it was the one the moment I put it on. It wasn't the dress I had originally imagined I'd choose, but it was the one I kept gravitating toward in the store!

It was comfortable, felt completely true to my style, and I didn't want to change a thing about it. I also knew it would be perfect for our venue.

How would you describe your wedding aesthetic in a few words?

We were married in a 16th century colonial mansion, so definitely dreamy, intimate, and historic.

What moment from your wedding day felt the most magical?

The most magical moment was our ring warming ceremony. Before we exchanged our wedding rings, they were passed among a few of our closest family members, who each offered a blessing, prayer, or well wish. It was such a meaningful way to include the people we love most, and knowing our rings had been held with so much love made the moment even more magical.

I also included a surprise mother-daughter dance, which isn’t traditional, but moms deserve the spotlight too!! It was such a sweet moment.

What advice would you give yourself when you first got engaged?

Enjoy being engaged. It’s such a special season! Also to stay true to who you are as a couple and make decisions that feel meaningful to you. Those choices will make your wedding day feel more personal and intimate.
